I still have 1/4/1/1.1.5/2/3, all in working condition. (Yes, I am a Minnesota resident in my 60s now) the second generation looked better, but I think Schaak was feeling the financial pinch of mfg(considering home mortgage were at 16-18 ,%at the time) also the second Gen was no out for very long before the house of careds came tumbling down. These are very underrated speakers from the 70's. The sound is smooth, with great detail, strong and tight bass, good midrange, and clear highs. The second generation (see brochure) were not as beefy, 4ohm, lighter weight centers, definitely had poor performance in tweeters, I have personally seen dozen of these blown. Replacement Speakers, Woofers, Midranges, Tweeters, Parts for Speaker Repair and. The crossovers have been recapped with Dayton Audio capacitors. These have a few small dents and grill cloth holes, but are otherwise in good condition. DLK was a regional manufacturerfrom Minneapolis Minnesota and produced a line of bookshelf and floor model speakers from the early 1970's through most of the 1980's before folding. The first gerneration all were 8ohm, used a foam grill, resesed, had very think veneer cabinets, the front surround wat solid wood, model three and some Medela 2 used alico woofers, models 3&2 had 2 pots for mid and treble, the back panel was round. Unfortunately, most people do not know that there are 2 completely different style of DLK Speakers.
